Privacy Policy

This policy describes information collected during a visit, the reasons it is used, and the limited circumstances in which another party may receive it. Continuing to use Franklin County Criminal History indicates acceptance of these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. Franklin County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own system.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email sent to the site may be retained long enough to answer and administer the communication. It stays within the operating team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.

Data We Gather Automatically

Ordinary server and analytics logs may collect technical details when a page loads:

  • The IP address assigned to your device
  • Which browser you are using and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
  • The site that sent you here, if any
  • Timestamps for each page view

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small device files that help measure page traffic and general use patterns. Analytics providers combine this activity into reports. A browser can reject or remove cookies, though a blocked cookie may change how part of the site works.

What We Do With This Data

  • Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
  • Sending your search requests to the right partner service
  • Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
  • Tracking down and fixing technical issues
  • Showing ads that may line up with your interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Franklin County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Franklin Clerk, Sheriff's Office, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and Florida Sexual Offenders and Predators Search. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search tools. Information submitted there is governed by the provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure rules, so review those terms before running a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to sheriff, clerk, court, state-agency, legal-aid, or outside search pages. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy controls. Read it before providing personal information.

Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information can be available to:

  • Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
  • Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
  • Ad networks that place ads on our pages
  • Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security practices are used for data under the site's control. No internet system is completely secure, so absolute protection or prevention of every breach cannot be guaranteed.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Information identified as a minor's personal data will be deleted when properly brought to the operator's attention.

Your Data Rights

Rights may vary by residence. Florida's consumer-protection framework includes the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, Chapter 501, Part II. Official government records remain governed by the Florida Public Records Law, Chapter 119, while Chapter 943 controls FDLE criminal-history dissemination. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:

  • Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
  • Have us fix information that is wrong
  • Request that we erase your data
  • Opt out of certain kinds of data processing

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised. A new version will appear here with an updated effective date and will govern later use.
